Terminator 2.0 is a completely useless but fun little WinApp that puts up
a picture of everyone's favorite cyborg in a window. With the help
of Aaron Wallace's Sounder program, pressing the "I'll Be Back" button
causes the terminator to say just that, as he vanishes from view to return
at a future time.
TERMINATOR WILL NOT RUN WITHOUT SOUNDER 2.0! PLEASE READ THE FILE SOUNDER.WRI
INCLUDED IN THE ZIPFILE. And while you're at it, send Aaron Wallace his ShareWare
fee of a measly $2.00 for bringing decent sound to PCs without extra hardware!
The terminator's return time can be set with the Settings dialog, accessible from the
system menu. There are three buttons, but only one of them does anything useful.
The first button allows you to set a return time in minutes, while selecting either of
the other two buttons will set the return time at one hour.
Terminator 2.0 is what I am calling 'AdWare.' It contains a commercial for a couple
of my other programs which will display itself the first time that you attempt to close
Terminator. Once the ad is displayed, a line is written to WIN.INI that prevents
Terminator from playing the ad on shutdown in the future. The ad can be seen at any time,
however, by selecting the 'About/Terminate' option on the system menu. When this option
is selected, the ad will display itself, then terminator will self-terminate.
So have fun with Terminator 2.0, and send Aaron Wallace his two bucks, OK?
